This social issue theoretical environmental design train wrap for the London Underground encourages the general public of London to reduce knife crime rates. As a whole, the design’s message reads “Cease Knife Crime Today”; however, when open, a message occupies each door reading “Leave the Knife” and “Lower our Crime”. The white type within the larger yellow letterforms defines a hierarchy while recalling the tight margins of caution tape. This design choice maintains consistent type functionality in accordance with the door’s two positions. Lastly, the words ‘Knife’ and ‘Crime’ are both severed, evoking the sharp aggression of a knife.
